What is AK?

Applied Kinesiology is a system that evaluates structural (physical body), chemical (nutrition, herbs, supplements) and mental (emotions)  aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis (detailed health history, physical exam, labs, imaging, etc). AK is a non-invasive system of evaluating body function through the dynamics of musculoskeletal system. Treatments may involve specific joint manipulation, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, acupuncture and clinical nutrition.

What this means for you is that I find muscle imbalances that are affecting the way you walk, sit, move and perform.

AK gives us the tools to test each muscle and manipulate it to to find balance and make sure that they are firing optimally. This allows us to find compensation patterns that occur due to injury, which are our bodies automatic protective mechanisms so no more damage is done. But the compensations are meant to be temporary for protection, not permanent patterns in which we move through life with.

It also guides us to more specifics, such as nutritional needs to support those muscles as well as identify any emotional connections that might be affecting the functioning of the muscles & organ systems.

Healing occurs in layers & AK gives us the tools to allow the body to heal what is needed through the process both with acute & chronic ailments.
